Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are set to reprise their iconic roles as Special Agents Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David from NCIS for an exciting new spin-off series on Paramount+.
The yet-to-be-titled 10-episode series is slated to begin production in Europe later this year, marking the first time de Pablo, 44, and Weatherly, 55, will share the screen together in a decade.
Weatherly, who joined NCIS in its debut season in 2003 and departed in 2016, recently made a cameo appearance during the funeral of Donald “Ducky” Mallard, portrayed by the late David McCallum. Meanwhile, de Pablo joined the series in Season 3 and left after Season 13, with her character’s fate seemingly sealed.
The storyline of the new series picks up after Ziva’s “supposed death,” with Tony leaving the NCIS team to raise their daughter. However, Ziva’s unexpected reappearance leads them on a thrilling adventure across Europe as they navigate through danger and attempt to uncover the truth behind an attack on Tony’s security company.
Both Weatherly and de Pablo will also serve as executive producers alongside John McNamara, 61, who expressed his excitement to delve into the NCIS universe with the beloved duo.
In a joint statement, Weatherly and de Pablo expressed gratitude to the fans who have supported the “TIVA” movement over the years, promising an action-packed roller coaster ride filled with love, danger, tears, and laughter.
McNamara echoed their sentiments, acknowledging the global sensation of the NCIS franchise and the opportunity to shoot in Europe, albeit humorously teasing that revealing the show’s title would violate the Espionage Act.
As anticipation builds for this long-awaited reunion, fans eagerly await the unveiling of more details about this thrilling new chapter in the NCIS universe.
