NCIS: Hawai’i has confirmed the commencement of filming for its third season, slated to begin shooting on Monday, December 4. The season is earmarked for a premiere on Monday, February 12, 2024, with expectations for a shorter run of episodes, ranging between 10 to 13, similar to the adjusted slate across CBS due to the Hollywood strikes earlier in the year.
Reported by TVLine, the production will initiate with a traditional Hawaiian blessing led by a Kahu, featuring an Oli Aloha (welcoming chant) and Pule Ho’oku’u (closing prayer), honoring Hawaiian customs and traditions.
The blessing ceremony will specifically encompass the significance of the number three, symbolizing connections to the past, present, and future, as well as unity as a team and progress as a family.
The main cast members, including Vanessa Lachey, Alex Tarrant, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Noah Mills, and Tori Anderson, are confirmed to return for this season. LL Cool J’s Sam Hanna is set to make a guest appearance in a few episodes, reprising his character’s crossover from NCIS: Los Angeles.
The show’s executive producers expressed excitement about LL Cool J joining the NCIS: Hawai’i family for the upcoming season. Vanessa Lachey shared her enthusiasm for the crossover, highlighting the joy of merging the franchise elements and extending a warm welcome to LL Cool J’s character.
LL Cool J’s presence spans multiple iterations of the NCIS franchise, including NCIS: Los Angeles and crossovers with NCIS and Hawaii Five-0.
NCIS: Hawai’i airs on CBS in the US, while NCIS seasons 1-20 are available for streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
