Exclusive news reveals that despite the conclusion of “NCIS: LA,” actress Daniela Ruah, famed for her portrayal of Kensi Blye, continues her involvement in the NCIS universe. Having wrapped the 14-season run of the spinoff last May, Ruah is now directing two episodes within the NCIS franchise. She’s leading an episode of NCIS in January, slated for broadcast in March, followed by directing an episode of “NCIS: Hawai’i” in February, set to air in April.
Reflecting on her return to the NCIS set, Ruah expresses her honor in directing after originating the Kensi character 15 years ago on NCIS: “To step onto that set again, as a director, with that incredible cast and crew, is an absolute honor,” she shared with Deadline. “So many familiar faces and people I love, and they’ve welcomed me with open arms. It’s like coming home.”
Ruah initially made her directorial debut on NCIS: Los Angeles during its 12th season. The conclusion of “NCIS: LA” in May 2023 showcased her character, Kensi, discovering her impending parenthood with Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen). Additionally, Chris O’Donnell’s character, Callen, tied the knot with his beloved Anna (Bar Paly) in an impromptu city hall wedding.
Recognized as the fifth longest-running CBS primetime scripted series, “NCIS: LA” holds its place among renowned shows such as Gunsmoke, Lassie, CSI, and Criminal Minds. The resurgence of the latter two series indicates promising prospects for the future of “NCIS: Los Angeles.”
