NCIS Sparks Outrage with Australian Spin-Off After LA Cancellation!

The announcement of the upcoming NCIS spin-off, NCIS: Sydney, has triggered mixed reactions among fans, leaving many displeased with the addition to the franchise, especially following the recent cancellation of NCIS: Los Angeles.

Scheduled to be the fourth installment in the NCIS franchise, NCIS: Sydney follows the franchise’s procedural format but ventures into international waters, marking the first time the CBS drama will explore locations beyond the United States.

Teasers and promotional images released across social media platforms provided a glimpse into the series, offering insights into the action-packed narrative. However, the news didn’t resonate positively with a segment of the NCIS fanbase, who voiced their discontent, expressing a desire for the return of beloved spin-offs like NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans.

The official Instagram page of the NCISverse shared a teaser and announced the premiere dates: “The series premiere of #NCISSydney comes to your screens: AU Friday, November 10 on Paramount+ Australia, US Monday, November 13 on CBS.”

Despite capturing the cast against the scenic backdrop of Sydney’s Harbour Bridge, certain fans aired their grievances. Comments ranged from disappointment to outright frustration, with some fans adamantly stating they wouldn’t invest in the new show following the cancellation of others.

While some expressed their discontent, others showed enthusiasm for the new spin-off, welcoming the return of the procedural format with an Australian twist. The promotional materials hinted at intense crime investigations for the dedicated team, further piquing the interest of those eager for the show’s debut.

The cast of NCIS: Sydney includes Olivia Swann as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey, Todd Lasance as Sergeant Jim ‘JD’ Dempsey, Sean Sagar as NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson, and Tuuli Narkle as AFP liaison Officer Constable Evie Cooper.

NCIS: Sydney Season 1 is set to premiere on Monday, November 13 on CBS in the USA, while a UK release date is yet to be announced.
