Vanessa Lachey, known for her role as Pearl in the popular series “NCIS: Hawai’i,” has recently taken on a significant new responsibility. She has been appointed as the United Service Organizations (USO)’s USO Global Ambassador, leveraging her platform to advocate for service members and their families. This cause holds particular significance for Vanessa, who grew up in a military family.
Reflecting on her upbringing and the announcement, Vanessa shared, “My journey as a military kid, born on a base in the Philippines and raised within the military lifestyle, has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the sacrifices and dedication of all military families, and I am honored to serve as a USO Global Ambassador.” She intends to use her personal experiences to raise awareness and inspire others to express gratitude and support for service members and their families.
In her new role, Vanessa will collaborate with longtime USO Global Ambassador Wilmer Valderrama, who is also known for his role in NCIS. The two, who are close friends, are enthusiastic about working together for such a meaningful cause. Wilmer expressed his excitement, stating, “My role with the USO has created the space for me to continue to pay it forward to the people who serve in our nation’s military and their families. I love working with the USO and now I get to do this impactful work with my good friend, Vanessa.”
Balancing multiple roles, Vanessa is not only engaged in her USO duties and starring in NCIS: Hawai’i but also co-hosting the popular reality show “Love is Blind” with her husband, Nick Lachey. The couple, married since 2011, cherishes family time with their three children—Camden John, Brooklyn Elisabeth, and Phoenix Robert. Vanessa often shares glimpses of their family life on social media, including their recent celebration of ringing in the New Year at Disneyland, marking the first time all five of them welcomed the new year together.
Vanessa’s commitment to her various roles, coupled with her dedication to supporting military families, exemplifies her passion for making a positive impact both on and off-screen.
