Fans of “NCIS” have a new series to anticipate as Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are set to star in their own 10-part spinoff on Paramount+. The streaming service announced this exciting development on Wednesday, reuniting the stars who portrayed Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, respectively, on the original show.
This marks the first time in a decade that Weatherly, 55, and de Pablo, 44, will share the screen together again. Weatherly originally appeared on “NCIS” when it debuted in 2003, while de Pablo joined the cast in Season 3 in 2005, with her character’s presumed demise in Season 13.
The official synopsis reveals that the new series will pick up after Ziva’s reappearance, as she and Tony have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. However, their peaceful life is disrupted when Tony’s security company is attacked, leading them to embark on a dangerous journey across Europe.
Tony and Ziva’s tumultuous relationship throughout “NCIS,” culminating in the birth of their daughter, has captivated fans, affectionately referred to as “Tiva” enthusiasts.
Weatherly’s departure from CBS’s “Bull” in 2022 marked the end of his six-season stint on the courtroom drama. The actor faced controversy during his time on the show, with allegations of sexual harassment from co-star Eliza Dushku, leading to a confidential settlement with the network.
Despite the challenges, Weatherly expressed gratitude for his time on “Bull” and announced his departure on social media. Now, he is gearing up for his new project with de Pablo, with filming scheduled to commence later this year.
Both actors will serve as executive producers on the spinoff, promising fans an exhilarating blend of love, danger, tears, and laughter in the world of Tony and Ziva. Their statement also extends gratitude to the dedicated fans who have supported the “TIVA” movement over the years, emphasizing that the series is a tribute to their unwavering loyalty.
