Former NCIS star Pauley Perrette has opened up about surviving a “massive” stroke in September 2021, expressing gratitude for being alive. Perrette, known for her role as Abby Sciuto on the crime procedural for 15 years, left the show in 2018 and retired from acting in 2022.
In a Twitter post on September 2, she reflected on the past year, mentioning the stroke and the loss of beloved family and friends. Perrette emphasized her resilience, stating, “And still a survivor after this traumatic life I’ve been given so far… And still so grateful, still so full of faith, and STILL HERE!”
Accompanying the post was a video where she acknowledged the one-year anniversary of the stroke, expressing amazement at cheating death multiple times throughout her life. Perrette shared her journey, including surviving a hair dye allergy, food allergies, and being a domestic violence and rape survivor.
“I’ve been through a lot this last two years, but I’m still here – and I’m still grateful,” she affirmed. Perrette’s openness about her experiences garnered positive messages from her fanbase, praising her for sharing such personal news.
