The United Service Organizations (USO) has appointed Vanessa Lachey, star of NCIS: Hawai’i, as a USO Global Ambassador, joining her longtime NCIS franchise co-star Wilmer Valderrama in this role.
With a personal connection to the military stemming from her upbringing as a military kid born on a base in the Philippines, Lachey’s appointment aims to advance the USO’s mission of bolstering the well-being of service members and their families through its core programs.
Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity, Lachey stated, “My journey within the military lifestyle has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the sacrifices and dedication of all military families. I am honored to serve as a USO Global Ambassador.” She further emphasized her commitment to amplifying the USO’s impact and inspiring fellow Americans to express gratitude and support for service members and their families.
J.D. Crouch II, CEO and President of the USO, highlighted Lachey’s understanding of the organization’s mission and the significance of providing support to military communities. He expressed eagerness to collaborate with her and witness her meaningful engagement with the military community in her new role as ambassador.
